After a successful first week at Wimbledon, where the grass-court Grand Slam was staged smoothly with 50 per cent capacity, fans now have even more to cheer.
Organisers have announced on Sunday that there will be a 100 per cent capacity crowd in London on Centre Court and No. 1 Court in the quarter-finals, and a full capacity on Centre Court for the semi-finals and finals. From the semi-final stage, singles matches will be played solely on Centre Court.
This news follows the announcement that was made before The Championships that the finals on the 10-11 July would be played in front of a full house. Restrictions will be lifted from Tuesday, making Wimbledon the first sporting event in Great Britain to be played with a full, 100 per cent capacity crowd since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The capacity of Centre Court is 14,979, and No.1 Court is 12,345. Capacity across the rest of the grounds will be reduced according to the number of courts in play.
