Sixth seeds Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury moved past Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(10) on Monday to reach their first Wimbledon quarter-final as a team.
The American-British tandem, who won the Australian Open title last year, hit eight aces and won 74 per cent (46/62) of their first-service points to set up a meeting with third seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah.
The Colombians, who are the defending champions at SW19, defeated Max Purcell and Luke Saville 6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Cabal and Farah hit 14 winners and broke the Australians four times to advance in two hours and 13 minutes.
The third-round matches were the first to be contested over five sets at Wimbledon this year, with the opening two rounds best-of-three sets due to rain.
Also moving through were top-seeded Croatians Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic after they beat Tomislav Brkic and Nikola Cacic 6-2, 3-6,7-6(3), 6-4. Mektic and Pavic recently won the Viking International Eastbourne trophy and have claimed seven tour-level titles this season in their first year together.

They hit 11 aces to set up a clash with eighth seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo, who recently reunited. Kubot and Melo won the Wimbledon title in 2017 and finished as the year-end No. 1 team that year.
