Nick Kyrgios’ girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi, played a key role in his career-best season on the ATP Tour.

In 2022, the Australian finished runner-up at Wimbledon and collected the Australian Open doubles title with his mate Thanasi Kokkinakis, a moment that was featured in the Netflix series Break Point.

In episode one of the docu-series, Hatzi is seen constantly by Kyrgios’ side. Whether it’s at the dinner table, practice sessions, sitting in the players’ box, or hanging out with the Aussie, Hatzi has been an important figure in the 27-year-old’s career since meeting him in the latter half of 2021.

“We met online and we’ve been hanging out every day since… We’ve been together for about two-and-a-half months,” Hatzi shared in Break Point.

Although tennis fans may see the emotional side of Kyrgios, who has had more than his share of broken racquets and fiery exchanges with officials, Hatzi revealed that he carries a different demeanor off court: “He’s not as crazy as everyone thinks he is.”

What may surprise people is what Hatzi said during Break Point right before the seven-time Tour-level titlist took the court for his opening round match in Melbourne last season. “I’ve never really watched a tennis match in my life,” Hatzi admitted. “This is all new for me.”

Kyrgios and Hatzi’s relationship is as strong as the Canberra native’s serve. The World No. 21 shared how he’s learned just how important time with his loved ones is, even more than earning millions of dollars while travelling the world.

“I value my family, close friends, and ‘Cozi’ too much to put tennis in front of that anymore,” Kyrgios said.

Since meeting Hatzi, Kyrgios has collected a Grand Slam doubles crown and the ATP 500 title in Washington, D.C. His standout season also included a final appearance at the prestigious All England Club, competing at the season-finale Nitto ATP Finals, and returning to the Top 20 for the first time since February 2020.

Hatzi’s off-court impact is certainly showing up on court as well.
