WTA star Iga Swiatek has been in imperious form over the past two weeks. Not only has her level of play caught the attention of fans and commentators, but also former World No. 1 Andy Murray.
Swiatek lost just five games last week en route to the Doha title. This week, she has dropped only three games, all against elite competition. Murray tweeted about the Pole's level by writing, “She is different?"
Murray and Swiatek have long expressed admiration for one another. At the 2021 BNP Paribas Open, they shared a chat on the practice court. Swiatek paid back Murray for his tweet with one of her own.
“And you are a resilience role model and an inspiration on so many levels,” Swiatek tweeted in response. “Thank you for everything that you do for this sport.”
