Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are set to lead the way at the Tokyo Olympics, with the tennis event being played from 24 July through 1 August.

Federer and World No. 1 Djokovic are both pursuing their first singles gold medal. The Swiss earned singles silver in London in 2012 and doubles gold in Beijing in 2007, while the Serbian claimed bronze in Beijing.

Murray, who gained entry into the event as the player with the most Olympic and Grand Slam titles outside the direct entries, is the two-time defending champion. The former World No. 1 triumphed in singles in London and Rio de Janeiro.

Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev, who have won the past three Nitto ATP Finals titles, will make their Olympic debuts. Other singles competitors to watch include Italian Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner, Argentine Diego Schwartzman, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and Australian Nick Kyrgios.

The four singles players competing for home country Japan will be Yoshihito Nishioka, Kei Nishikori, Taro Daniel and Yuichi Sugita. Nishikori will also play doubles with Ben McLachlan.

The leading doubles teams will be Croatians Nikola Mektic/Mate Pavic, Colombians Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah and Frenchmen Pierre-Hugues Herbert/Nicolas Mahut. Murray will play doubles with Joe Salisbury, Medvedev will partner Aslan Karatsev and Zverev will compete with Jan-Lennard Struff.
